Brendan Flanagan is a visual artist and researcher whose work examines the entanglement of painting, authorship, and generative AI. He is a PhD candidate in Visual Art at York University where his research is supported by a SSHRC Doctoral Fellowship. He holds an MFA from Concordia University and after graduating was a recipient of the Claudine and Stephen Bronfman Fellowship in Fine Art. In the past his work has been written about in The Globe and Mail, The National Post, Magenta Magazine, and Bad Day Magazine. He has exhibited in Canada, the United States, and Europe.
